#100DaysOfMakeup : Day Fourteen!

Here we are two weeks in and I’ve gone for another simple look today using one of my favourite lipsticks.

The best thing about this lipstick (aside from the colour) is the price. I will forever love shopping at Makeup Revolution because the price and quality of their products is unbelievable. I think I actually paid £1 for this lipstick when I bought it. Crazy!

My two products for this look were:

Really simple but really pretty. I hope you like it.

#100DaysOfMakeup : Day Twelve!

Today I went for a quick and simple lip look, pairing together two lipsticks from my collection that I love because of how bright they are! (And of course there’s some glitter in there, this is me we’re talking about)

The products I used were :

I think this look is pretty self-explanatory. I just put each of the colours on each lip and dabbed some glitter on my cupids bow and along the bottom of bottom lip!

Hope you enjoy 😘

#100DaysOfMakeup : Day Four!

Today is something completely simple, but something that’s sure to get you plenty of compliments! I’ve gone for a simple ombre lip from pink to purple. Of course this is totally interchangeable so feel free to let your imagination run wild.

A short list of products for you today, but nonetheless, here’s what I used:

To create this, all I did was take the purple liquid lipstick and use the very tip of the wand (though you could use a brush if you prefer) and lined my lips, adding in a bit more colour in the corners but leaving the central part of the lips bare. I then took my pink lipstick and filled in the blank space. To get the perfect blend it was just a case of smacking and rubbing my lips together a few times, and that was it, lip look complete!

I love ombre lip looks. I think they’re a great way to start experimenting with colour but it also allows you to create something a little more unique.

Let me know what you think in the comments!

#100DaysOfMakeup : Day Three!

Today was a bit of an experiment for me. On instagram I’ve seen some people using liquid lipsticks as eyeliners, as well as the full face using only liquid lipsticks challenge on YouTube, so I decided I wanted to give it a go myself because I have some pretty bright colours that would look super cute as eyeliner!

Here’s what I used to create this look:

So to start with, I took an eyeliner brush (Real Techniques do one that’s perfect for this!) and dipped that into a splodge of liquid lipstick on the back of my hand to draw on my normal winged eyeliner. I added in an extra triangle in my inner corner to create a sort of graphic look and to make the eye look bigger. Then it was as simple as going around the whole thing in my gold glitter liner and finishing the look of with a coat of mascara. I didn’t feel like the look needed lashes, but of course you can totally add them if you want to.

For the lips, I used the same liquid lipstick as normal before taking a fluffy brush and dipping it in gold glitter. I brushed this across my cupids bow and the very outer edge of my bottom lip.

Voila! Done!

What do you think? What other colours would you pair together?

Review – Liquid to Matte Lipstick

So ever since the release of Kylie LipKits, lots of makeup brands are now releasing their own liquid to matte lipsticks. As a student, I can’t afford a Kylie LipKit so I went scouring drugstore brands to try and find ones that might match up.

So far, I haven’t been able to find a wide range of colours, most of them have kept within the nude range of colours. So I grabbed a dark brown colour I’ve been after for ages from NYX Lip Lingerie collection, but because I like a pop of colour, I also bought a bright purple for Makeup Revolution Salvation Lip Lacquer range. The former cost me just over £6 from Boots – I’ll leave a link below – and the latter and mere £3 from Superdrug.

Each of them have their plus points. Both of these lipsticks do exactly what they say on the tin. Though I will say that the Makeup Revolution lipstick looks much better after two coats rather than one. Both of them stay put for a good number of hours and don’t come off after eating, drinking or having a smooch.

However, with both, after a while my lips became very dry. It was a longer time with NYX and after a reapplication my lips felt moisturised again, but with the Makeup Revolution, I found my self wanting to bit my lips because the skin was so dry.

The formulas however are pretty nice. NYX’s is quite thick but it’s not gloopy and goes on really smooth. The way they’ve used a flat brush on the end really helps for lining lips first before you fill them him. Makeup Revolution’s formula was a little sticky while it dried, but after that all was well and it went on smoothly.

All things considered, they do the exact same job as Kylie’s LipKits for a much cheaper price. They’re much more accessible and in both collections, there are very close matches for the colours Kylie has released. I think they’re a worthwhile investment, especially if you can’t afford to break the bank with the more expensive versions.

Links to buy each of them are below.
